The boat portrait
Made from your photo.

Choosing between the three routes.
The name print is the quickest to order, because it needs no photograph. Her name, the canal she lives on and a year are all it takes, which suits a boat that has just changed hands or an owner with no good shot of her. The boat portrait starts from a photograph and gives it back as a painted study, which can quieten a busy towpath background. Your photograph is printed as it stands, so it rewards a sharp, well-lit picture taken side-on.
The format matters as much as the route. A paper print or a framed print suits a bulkhead or the wall at the end of a galley, a canvas hangs without a frame, and a mug is the one that gets used every morning. If you would like to arrange the printing yourself, each route is also available as a digital download that arrives by email.
Everything is made to order, so check the name, the waterway and the date before you pay. If you are buying for someone else, the guides linked below walk through what suits a boat owner and what suits someone who lives aboard.
