- The mug, 11oz ceramic. White ceramic, sublimation-printed so the image is fused into the glaze: dishwasher and microwave safe.
- Best results: Landscape photo. The print wraps the mug, so a wide landscape shot fills it best. We show you the wrap area before you buy.
- UK delivery, 4–9 working days. Made-to-order, boxed and shipped tracked.
Sizes
- 11oz, ceramic white
- One size: 11oz white ceramic, and the photograph runs the full way round it. A wide shot suits that better than a tight crop, because there is no border to hide a subject sitting too close to the edge.
- The image is fused into the glaze rather than laid over it, so a dishwasher does not lift it. We check your file against the wrap area before you pay.
A mug for the mooring and the shelf.
A mug with your own boat on it spends its life in two places: on the galley shelf and in your hand at the mooring, steam rising off the towpath in the morning. It is also an easy way to share a boat with people who will never see the wall she hangs on. A pair, each showing a different view of her, makes a tidy gift for a crew member or for a friend starting out on the cut.
Choosing the photograph.
The picture runs the whole way round, so think of it as a long, shallow strip rather than a poster. Landscape shots win. A boat seen side-on, with water and bank stretching away either end, fills the wrap naturally. A tight crop on the bow sits awkwardly because there is no border to give it room.
- Keep the main subject away from the extreme left and right of the frame.
- Choose a clear, well-lit shot over a dramatic but dark one.
- Avoid a tall portrait photograph, which will sit in the middle with plain areas either side.
Mug, print or canvas.
A mug carries an image you will see every day but never study. It is the right choice for a general view of her at her best. If the point of your photograph is a small detail, such as the signwriting on the cabin side or the brass on the tiller, give it a paper print instead, where the detail can be seen up close. The mug comes in one size, so the only decision is the photograph, and it is worth taking a few minutes over it.
