What goes on each line

The boat's name, as you type it. Below it, the canal and the year in capitals. Then the home mooring. A long line is set smaller so it stays on the paper; a line too long for the item even then is flagged before you add it.

  • 11oz ceramic: Standard size. The size you want first thing in the morning. Holds about 330ml of tea or coffee, proper boater's portion.
  • Wrap-around print. Visible from either side, however the handle's facing.
  • Printed into the glaze. Sublimation drives the ink into the coating under heat, so it sits inside the glaze and survives the dishwasher without peeling at the rim. No kiln is involved.

Personalised narrowboat name mug: size

  • 11oz, ceramic white
  • One size only: 11oz white ceramic. The name wraps the whole way round instead of sitting in a panel, so the boat reads the same whether the handle is in the left hand or the right.
  • The lettering is fused into the glaze, not printed on top of it, which is why it survives a dishwasher. The colours are the same bottle green and oxblood as the print, so mug and print sit together.

Questions before you go

Will the print last?

Yes: sublimation printing fuses the ink into the glaze, so it won't peel, scratch, or fade in the dishwasher. Treat it like any other ceramic mug.

Same design on both sides?

Yes: the design wraps around so it's visible from either side, whichever way the handle's facing. No spare hand needed to spin it round in the morning.

Can I see a proof first?

The live preview shows the wording and layout you chose before you pay, so check the spelling there. Colours can look different on a ceramic mug than on a screen. We don't email a separate proof.

Returns?

Personalised goods are made-to-order. Damaged-on-arrival → we'll replace it; change of mind → we can't. Full details on our returns page.
