Signage
Waterway signs, made personal.
Most "waterway signs" are generic — a printed silhouette, a rented mooring number, a rule board. This is a sign for one boat: your boat's actual name, hand-set in the bottle-green and oxblood palette of the cut, with the canal it calls home underneath.
Search "waterway signs" and most results are generic — laminated rule boards, a marina's numbered mooring plate, a novelty "no wash" print aimed at nobody's actual boat. Ours is the opposite: a sign built around one detail that matters, the name painted on your boat's side, set in the same colour tradition that's marked out canal boats for a century.
What makes it a waterway sign, not just a poster.
The layout borrows directly from working-boat signwriting — a shaded serif for the name, a diamond rule beneath it, the canal or river named in small caps underneath. Bottle green ink, oxblood accents, cream ground. It reads like something that belongs on the water, because the design comes from the water.

Where it works.
On the cabin wall, at the stern rail behind glass, by the companionway, or off the boat entirely — on a hallway wall at home for the months the boat's laid up. Same sign, same name, wherever it hangs.

Questions, answered
Is this an actual physical sign, or a print?+
It's a printed sign on 200gsm archival paper, framed or unframed — not engraved or routed. It's designed to read like traditional canal signwriting, in a format that ships flat and hangs easily.
Can I use my boat's real name and canal?+
Yes — that's the whole point. Type the boat name and the waterway into the customiser and the sign is generated and printed to that.
Will it survive on the boat?+
The paper and inks are made for framed indoor display, not direct weather exposure. For a cabin wall, companionway or stern area under cover it holds up well; we don’t recommend it fully exposed to rain.
Do you sell blank or generic waterway signs?+
No — every sign we make is personalised to a boat name and waterway. If you want a generic canal print instead, see our canal boat art prints.
