Paper and print

Printed on 250 gsm uncoated off-white archival paper, the one paper we use for every paper print, at every size on this page: A4, A3, A2, 50x70 cm, 70x100 cm.

What goes on each line

The boat's name, as you type it. Below it, the canal and the year in capitals. Then the home mooring. The sheet also carries above the name, "a life on the cut" and at the foot, "NARROWBOAT · GIFTS". A long line is set smaller so it stays on the paper; a line too long for the item even then is flagged before you add it.

Questions before you go

Can I see a proof before it's printed?

The live preview shows the wording, layout and background you chose before you pay, so you can check the spelling. Colours can look a little different on paper than on screen. We won't email a separate proof.

Can I personalise something other than a canal route?

The "route" line takes any 60 characters. Try "the cut, anywhere" or "Llangollen and back twice." Type whatever the moment was.

Returns?

Personalised prints are made-to-order, so we can't accept returns for change of mind. If your print arrives damaged or wrong, tell us as soon as you can, with a photo, and we'll reprint or refund it. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. Full details on our returns page.
