TERMS OF SALE

Terms of sale.

Last updated: 29 April 2026. These terms apply to every order you place with Narrowboat Gifts. By clicking "Add to basket" you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Narrowboat Gifts is a UK trading name. Limited-company registration is in progress and the trading entity, registered office, and ICO registration number will be published here once they are issued. In the interim, all orders are accepted on the terms set out on this page.

Contact: [email protected].

2. The product

We make personalised editorial typographic prints — your boat name, your canal route, and a date — printed to order on 200gsm semi-glossy paper in three sizes (A4, A3, A2). Production is handled by our print partner Gelato in their UK facility.

Colour reproduction is faithful but not pixel-perfect — printed colours sit slightly more muted than your screen because the press converts to CMYK. The live preview on the product page is the proof.

3. Pricing & payment

All prices are in pounds sterling. We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added at checkout. Shipping is shown as a separate line at checkout or is free for orders over £40.

Payment is processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd. You consent to the charge when you click Pay on the Stripe Checkout page. Your contract with us is formed when we send the order confirmation email after Stripe confirms the payment.

4. Right to cancel — bespoke goods exemption

Under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised. Every print we make is bespoke to you, so change-of-mind returns are not possible. See /returns/ for what we do cover (damage in transit, our errors, typos within the correction window).

5. Delivery

Estimated delivery is five to nine working days for the UK from the day you order. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, though we'll keep you posted if anything goes wrong. Risk in the goods passes to you when they're delivered to the address you gave us.

6. Faulty or damaged goods

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a print arrives damaged, not as described, or printed incorrectly through our error, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a free reprint. See /returns/.

7. Liability

We don't exclude or limit our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that can't be excluded under UK law.

Otherwise, our total aggregate liability arising out of any single order is capped at the price you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

8. Intellectual property

The print template, typography choices, and brand marks are ours. You retain whatever rights you already had in the boat name, route and date you typed in (we assume you have the right to use them). Buying a print gives you the print itself for personal display — you don't get a licence to reproduce or commercially distribute the design.

9. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy notice.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction.
